Here we have a very well on the way 3 1/2" gauge LMS Stanier Black 5 to the well respected 'Doris' design by LBSC. The locomotive is ostensibly complete, and looks to pretty much simply be a fittings and plumbing exercise. The tender is also well on the way, although the body isn't yet attached to the chassis and the baffles are simply wedged in place for the photographs so you can see the bits that are there.
The silver soldered copper boiler looks neatly and nicely done and is stamped up from it's initial shell test. No steam tests yet of course as it's not quite at that point, but it certainly wouldn't take a great deal to get this one over the finishing line.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
